A Parable!

To Be Beautiful:
A Lover thought he would savor the sounds and smells of the seaside air and so he decided to set aside his chores for the day and off he went to the waterfront.
He walked out along a long pier where he could gaze upon a panoramic view that took in not only the seeming endless row of waves heading towards shore.
But also the Lover could also see the sandy beach where many were frolicking in the shallows or laying out on the sand basking in the sun.
A group of young ladies dressed in anything but the attire one would wear at the beach saw the Lover on the pier and came to him.
“Are you the one they call the Holyman?” they asked? “Yes” said the Lover.
One of the young ladies came to the forefront of the group and asked, “Do you do miracles? Can you make us beautiful?”
The Lover asked, “Who says you’re not beautiful?” The girl replied, “We are ashamed of ourselves, because we are not as feminine looking as other girls and we get teased constantly.”
The Lover sighed understanding how cruel can the words of the youthful ignorance can be in it naivety of what is True Beauty.
The Lover said to the young ladies, “I understand, for I can think of no one that has ever lived on this planet that has not ever felt the bite of cruel words.”
“The miracle that you ask for cannot be done, for that would not be Grace at all.”
“The girl asked, “Why?” The Lover said, “To take something of unlimited beauty and make it into just a small aspect of beauty is an act of smallness.”
“Where is this unlimited beauty we have,” they asked? “Within you, as you and all around you.” He said.
“How do we get it”, they asked? The Lover said, “The answer is easy and yet it can be one of the hardest things to do, but if you do it faithfully, you will see a beauty in each of you that will exceed anything you can imagine.”
Excitedly the young ladies said, “We can, please tell us.”
The Lover smiled and walked over and pulled back the hoods they were wearing and simply said, “Love yourself today, and tomorrow Love yourself a little bit more and keep doing it until the need for change falls away into each of you accepting how beautiful you have always been.“
All My Love
Rob.
